Feralco Deutschland GmbH in Nienburg/Weser is a subsidiary of Feralco AB, a leading chemicals company active in the water treatment business and with headquarters in Helsingborg, Sweden. Feralco Deutschland GmbH situated in Nienburg/Weser was founded in 2001. On 1st June 2001 the company took over the water treatment part of Solvay Barium Strontium GmbH, Hannover. The offices and production plant are located in Nienburg Industrial Park on the same spot where Kali Chemie had it's business.
The Swedish parent company, Feralco AB in Helsingborg, was founded in June 2000 and started its activities in December the same year by the acquisition of the water treatment chemicals business of British companies Laporte and Alcan. The ownerr of Feralco AB is the Swedish industrialist Rune Andersson through his company group Mellby Gård Industri AB. Under his management companies with promising business ideas have developed successfully t o become among the leading players in their respective businesses.
We offer you traditional and innovative products – products that allow you to optimise a wide range of applications. Our emphasis of application in the pulp and paper industry (sizing/retention/fixing), process and wastewater treatment and drinking water production. Traditional products, such as aluminium sulphate, are completed with new developed inorganic and highly cationic products such as polyaluminium chloride and polyaluminium sulphates. These are applied either by themselves or in a combination with different organic polymers and other additives. In this way water resources are used efficiently and environmentally friendly according to the most recent technology.
In cooperation with the Swedish company Chematur AB, Feralco through the jointly developed Aqua Reci process is involved in the recycling and reuse of sludge from water and sewage treatment. This process is based on supercritical water oxidation and combines recycling of coagulants and phosphorus from the sludge.
Through the REAL process, developed by Feralco, aluminium salts can be recovered from drinking water sludge. The residue from this process is a concentrated amount of impurities representing less than 10% of the original amount of sludge.
