Polyaluminium chloride solution FDPAC 18
The polyaluminium chloride solution FDPAC 18 is a standard solution with 17 % Al2O3.
Polyaluminium chloride is used primarily as an electrolyte in colloidal systems as coagulant and fixative.
The primary applications are:
- Industrial and municipal wastewater treatment
- Drinking water treatment
- Sludge conditioning
- Elimination of phosphate
- Damping of bulking sludge
- Precipitation for unloading the biological step
- Industrial water treatment
- De-emulsification
- Pulp and Paper industry – sizing / retention / fixing agent
FDPAC 18 should be added with a suitable acid-resistant metering pump directly to the raw water, waste water or material flow. A dilution of the solution before use is not recommended. The dosing should be chosen so that good mixing is ensured. The optimum dosage will be determined individually for each application, e.g. with the help of jar tests. For technical advice the Feralco team is at your disposal.
Suitable for the storage tanks are acid and chloride-resistant materials, such as glass fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) or rubber-coated steel. It is important to ensure that no brass or soft steel connections are used. For piping and valves PVC, glass-reinforced polyester and other acids and chloride resistant materials should be used.
Regular inspection and cleaning of the tank and dosing system is recommended.
