Polyaluminium chloride

The chemistry of aluminium allows the synthesis of polymeric species that form polyaluminium chlorides Al(OH)xCly and polyaluminium chlorosulphates Al(OH)xCly(SO4)z. These products, particularly reactive and effective, are characterised by their content of active ingredient expressed as alumina (% Al2O3) and basicity (B in % = OH/3Al), which is an indicator of the degree of polymerisation of the product.

Our range for the production of drinking water meets the standard NF EN 883 Type 1. Our line for the manufacture of paper satisfies the special requirements for aluminium salts of food grade (see FDA regulations and BFR XXXVI).

Polyaluminium chlorides are used for drinking water production to precipitate the suspended solids and the colloids.

In the paper industry, polyaluminium chlorides are used as retention agent for sheet formation or as a coagulating agent in the treatment of anionic trash.

Polyaluminium chlorides are used in the primary stage of sewage treatment and for phosphorus removal in combination with biological phosphorus removal or alone.
